The South East Asian Women's Studies Conference 2015 (SEA WSC 2015) is a gathering of academics, students and advocates of women's empowerment and gender equality to examine the state of women's and gender studies in South East Asia twenty years after the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and in the year of the officially targeted full integration of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). The conference will interrogate the state of women's and gender studies and how these connect to the goals of empowering women in the region. It will also look into the potential opportunities and challenges for women’s studies and the women’s movement brought about by the economic, political and cultural thrusts of the ASEAN integration.
